Monthly Movies that Matter – September

The Zeitgeist Movement Queensland brings you Monthly Movies that Matter, a free event this month focusing on alternative energies, such as thorium.

We will be showing a selection of short, interesting, provocative clips around energy with opportunities for discussion in between. We will complete the afternoon by watching “Thorium: An energy solution?”. Check out a TED talk about thorium here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2vzotsvvkw

Casey Davidson will also present her research from Currumbin Eco-village, part of the Community Tours project. We will also discuss the working document RBE index which has been adapted from the Earth Similarity Index (ESI). More about that here:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth_Similarity_Index

Each month we also vote on next month’s movie or theme. Everyone in attendance is welcome to make a suggestion and vote using minimum-opposition. Check out last month’s vote here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_kAf91WQHEX2Yud6pFlkbrUlFUEhP1wQYpTC8CkQ9C0/edit?usp=sharing

The event will be held in the Brisbane Square Library in the Theatrette free of charge. It’s a perfect opportunity to learn more about a more positive future, find out more about what’s happening in the Zeitgeist Movement locally, nationally and globally… and if you’d like to be more involved. Most importantly, it’s a great way to make friends, connect with like-minded people and have a great time.

After the film we mingle at Govinda’s in the city, please feel free to join us for this too if you can’t make it to the movie. Feel free to bring books to trade… and to bring your flash drive to share resources.

We look forward to seeing you there.
