Monthly Movies that Matter

Come together on the 3rd Saturday of every month with Zeitgeist Movement supporters to watch an interesting and insightful movie/documentary for discussion.

Each month represents an important theme, such as education, war, politics, money, communication, technology or science.

Before the movie, we will give an update on what’s happening with the Zeitgeist Movement, some short clips leading up to the feature film, followed by a discussion and dinner at a nearby restaurant afterwards.

A great way to meet like-minded people, enjoy a movie and talk about some of the most important issues and discoveries of our time. We look forward to meeting you.

Monthly Movies that Matter – Psychological Warfare

Hey Everyone!
Every 3rd Saturday of the month at 2:00pm the Zeitgeist Movement hosts an MMTM in the Brisbane Square Library.

Each month represents an important theme, such as education, war, politics, money, communication, philosophy, critial thinking, technology or science where we watch an interesting and insightful movie/documentary/lecture on the topic, followed by discussion.

Before the film, we will give an update on what’s happening with the Zeitgeist Movement. The event is followed by dinner or drink at a nearby restaurant or bar for more socialising and discussion.

This month’s film is Psywars. This film explores the evolution of propaganda and public relations in the United States, with an emphasis on the elitist theory of democracy and the relationship between war, propaganda and class.

Includes original interviews with a number of dissident scholars including Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Michael Parenti, Peter Phillips (Project Censored), John Stauber (PR Watch), Christopher Simpson (The Science of Coercion) and others.

A deep, richly illustrated study of the nature and history of propaganda, featuring some of the world’s most insightful critics, Psywar exposes the propaganda system, providing crucial background and insight into the control of information and thought.

This a great way to meet like-minded people, enjoy a movie and talk about some of the most important issues and discoveries of our time. See you there.

Activist Meetup Group

The aim of any TZM chapter is to grow through awareness actions and community based activist projects, and this will be the sole focus for this meet up group. So if you are interested in contributing to future projects, or have your own project ideas to share, we would love to see you there. No matter how big or small, this will be an open platform to bounce ideas off other motivated minds. Just keep in mind that any project must have the fundamental ethos of TZM in mind i.e., aims towards sustainability, creating awareness of the movement, and ideally exist outside the current monetary system.
All members welcome – from new members to the ones covered in cobwebs. Look forward to seeing you there and feel free to contact me before hand with any questions.

Catch-up with David Z, founder of TZM Australia

Hi everybody!

David Z, founder of TZM Australia and former national coordinator, is visiting Sydney and looking forward to catching up with old and new chapter members. This is a great opportunity for members of the old and the new incarnations of the TZM Sydney Chapter to meet, and to reinvigorate the chapter!

We’ll be hanging out this Friday all afternoon and evening on the rooftop at the Websters Bar (ex Zanzibar), as we frequently did a few years back.

The next Movies That Matter is coming up, we’ll send details and invites soon.

Looking forward to seeing you at the ex Zanzibar!
