THEATRE Workshop, Social & JAM Night – Thursday nights with the Burrow Network!

Come together to hang out, chat, plan projects or events, meet interesting people, brainstorm together and empower each other. Caution – very casual setting 🙂 Lafe Charlton has worked in and around the Brisbane Theatre scene for over 20 years and we are stoked to have him on board hosting our first ever THEATRE workshop from about 7PM! Come along if you are keen to develop some new skills through some fun activities like role plays, theatre exercises and maybe even a poetry recital. This is a fun way to increase your confidence when on stage and/or in the center of attention and a great way to develop your public speaking skills also! If you’re more musically inclined, bring along an instrument and there shall be some jammin on the back deck upstairs! We will also have the social and creative table happening as usual, so feel free to bring any creative projects to work on – we will provide basic arts supplies and paper to bring out those inner children we keep locked up way too much! See you there!!

Priocracy – A global community

The Zeitgeist Movement and the ‘Creating Heaven on Earth’ Meetup invite you to explore some very important philosophical questions, to direct us towards creating better civilisations. You’re welcome to Dr. Richard Mochelle’s presentation on PRIOCRACY.

Dr Richard is an expert in architecture, to environmental design education, futures education, studies in environmental, economic and political ethics. He also ventured into urban & rural planning.  His doctoral work on global responsibility and world constitutionalism (RMIT 2001, accessible online) theoretically grounds an interconnected array of current system design projects.

He describes a Priocracy as a cosmopolitan political economy. His inspiration was partly activated decades ago on reading Erich Fromm’s The Art of Loving.

Some intriguing questions include:

• Can family values extend to embrace, civilise and integrate the entire global family?

• Could this high-minded idea be activated one day to produce an economic revolution?

• What is the rationale for trade free and tax free economic ethic?

• What if those extolling this ethic committed in all integrity to enact it?

• How might a love-based political economy operate on a global scale?

• What would be its operating principles and its attractions?

• What role might the internet play?

• Would a Priocracy prove more economic in the face of scarcity than the competitive market?

• Could it outcompete the market?

We look forward to seeing you there!

TZM Sydney meetup: Projects and Teams

The Zeitgeist Movement is a Global Sustainability Advocacy Movement.

In this meetup we will introduce our personal projects, and aim at forming teams to begin realising those projects. A TZM chapter project must be aligned with the general objectives of TZM, e.g. raising awareness about current unsustainable practices, promoting the RBE/NL socioeconomic system, and expanding the chapter.

If you don’t currently have a project that you’d like to get support for, come and listen to the projects others have and see if you’ll be keen in teaming-up with them.

This meetup will go for two hours, and will be followed by a Gaianism meetup for those interested. Gaianism aims at developing an open-source value-system derived from its two main principles: sustainability and consistency.

The room at the Sydney Mechanics’ School of Arts can cater for a maximum of 20 attendees, so please RSVP if you’re attending, and update your RSVP if you can no longer make it.

Please promote this meetup among your friends and anyone you think might be interested! Looking forward to seeing you all there!
