Monthly Movies that Matter – January

IMPORTANT: We have had a VENUE AND TIME CHANGE for JUST THIS MONTH as our usual room is unavailable. It will start at 2:30pm at New Farm Library. Please message us on the meetup if you can’t find us or get in.

Welcome to a new year of Monthly Movies that Matter for The Zeitgeist Movement Australia! To kick our public event off for 2016, this month our topic will be MONEY.

We will watch some interesting, provocative and inspiring clips based on the role money plays in our society, as well as discussing alternatives.
There will be opportunity for discussion in between, followed by “Money as Debt III”

It’s not necessary to watch “Money as Debt I or II” but they are available on youtube if you wish to watch them in advance. Here is the trailer for the first film: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VvKoCgv5sM
Money as Debt III illustrates how a fundamental change in our long-held concept of money, paired with recent breakthroughs in technology opens the door to a self-generating, self-balancing and sustainable global “money” backed by REAL VALUE and OPEN to ALL. Although this is not the Zeitgeist train-of-thought, which is based on intelligent management of earth’s resources for all, it’s a great tool for provoking conversation and discussing ideas.

Each month we also vote on next month’s movie or theme. Everyone in attendance is welcome to make a suggestion and vote using minimum-opposition.

The event is free of charge.

It’s a perfect opportunity to learn more about a more positive future, find out more about what’s happening in the Zeitgeist Movement locally, nationally and globally… and if you’d like to be more involved. Most importantly, it’s a great way to make friends, connect with like-minded people and have a great time.

After the film at around 6:15 we will mingle at Bitter Suite – 75 Welsby St, New Farm QLD 4005 for food and drinks.

Please feel free to join us for this too if you can’t make it to the movie. Feel free to bring books to trade… and to bring your flash drive to share resources.

We look forward to seeing you there.
